WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Sana age 25

I had anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia which led me to not leaving the house for months at a time. Initially i had online sessions and with gradual exposure therapy i was able to have sessions in person and began to feel comfortable outside again. The CBT really helped change my beliefs and thoughts and allowed me to regain my independence. I do see myself slip here and there but I know how to deal with my feelings now. I'll be forever grateful for the support I recieved from Lowri and would highly recommend to anyone who needs some support.

Leyla (16)

Lowri has been a lifeline for my daughter, Leyla. When she first began therapy, Leyla was in an incredibly fragile place after experiencing prolonged emotional trauma. Through Lowri’s calm, compassionate, and intuitive approach, she’s gradually regained confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to trust again.

Lowri has an extraordinary gift for meeting young people exactly where they are, she never pushes, she invites. Her sessions have given Leyla not only a safe space to process her pain but also the tools to understand herself and regulate her emotions in real life.

Millie age 19

Lowri has been working weekly with Millie since January 2024. Millie is autistic and so it was very important for us to find a therapist that had experience of ASC and who could build trust effectively, as Millie had deep trust and confidence issues as a result of previous trauma. Millie and Lowri had an initial video chat to see if they might 'fit', followed by an in person introductory session, which went well.

From the start, Lowri took things very much at Millie's pace, establishing a rapport quickly by understanding Millie's 'ways of working', and building sessions around her deep interest in art and animals. This was very helpful as Millie reported she found it much easier to describe her feelings through art and creative activities, and with the comfort of having animals around, than by always vocalising them - particularly when working through some of the trauma she had experienced. It also meant she put down her walls a bit and didn't always have to 'mask' or maintain eye contact, which she can find difficult when stressed or talking through difficult issues.

Dobbie, Lowri's chihuahua, proved particularly friendly and helpful in sessions! He, and Lowri's other pets, give Millie a physical and comforting focus during therapy. Dobbie has been influential enough in Millie's journey that we are lucky to now have our own gorgeous chihuahua, with whom we continue 'therapy' at home; he encourages Millie out on daily walks so she can enjoy nature and just talk about her day. He has also given her confidence that she can look after an animal's needs and do things independently.

Lowri has always been intuitive and extremely responsive and adaptive to Millie's mood, sometimes pausing a particular path they've been exploring where it's been too much one week, and sometimes encouraging Millie to try different techniques, such as EMDR. Millie can always choose her mode of therapy and activity and the variety of creative opportunities has been very wide. By creating each week, Millie has learnt that perfection isn't the required end result, that enjoying the process is more important.

Lowri has been the constant, the calm, the outlet and the lynchpin of Millie's week and somehow magically (though I'm sure there is science and method in her approach!) is helping Millie put herself back together.

I have no hesitation in recommending Lowri as a therapist. She's helped our family see a way for Millie through the darkest of times.
