Hello, I'm Sophie
I will be working within the 1 Life Therapy Team on a Thursday to provide admin support and in time I will also be offering therapy sessions for adults 18 yrs+
I am a trainee Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and I am passionate about supporting people to gain a deeper understanding of themselves whilst helping them to work through difficult life experiences.
My passion for mental health and desire to help others influenced my decision to train to become a therapist. I started my career in the charity sector, working in housing and homelessness services. I then trained as a mental health social worker, gaining valuable experience working in mental health teams within a local authority and NHS setting, where I supported people with a range of mental health issues.
I often felt that I wanted to work with people in a more therapeutic and relational way, therefore training as a therapist felt like an intuitive step to take. Throughout my training I have aimed to provide my clients with a compassionate, warm, and non-judgemental space to explore their difficulties whilst supporting them to make beneficial and lasting changes in their lives.

Hi, I'm Laura
I’m a CBT therapist, yoga teacher, and qualified personal trainer, which basically means I love working with both the mind and the body, and how the two connect.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, because let’s be honest… we’re all so different. I’m really passionate about supporting you to build a life that feels like yours, not something you feel you “should” be doing.
In our sessions, we’ll get curious together about what’s working (and what’s not), and gently explore what fits for you right now. I often use CBT in a really practical, down-to-earth way, noticing patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and figuring out how they might be keeping you stuck (without any judgement). From there, we can experiment with small, realistic shifts to help things feel a bit lighter or more manageable.
Alongside CBT, I bring in elements of movement, breath, and body awareness. This might look like grounding through your body, tuning into your energy, or exploring how movement and routine can support your mental wellbeing. With my personal training background, I also understand how powerful it can be to build realistic, supportive habits, without pressure or perfection, so we can find approaches that actually feel doable in your day-to-day life.
Outside of my work, I feel most like myself when I’m in nature, ideally on a paddleboard in the middle of a lake. I love trying new things and have learned to embrace the fact that I get bored easily, it keeps life interesting and reminds me to keep exploring and switching things up. I’m always looking for a bit of adventure and love travelling; it gives me new perspectives and helps me continue to grow. I’m also still learning to move towards the things that scare me (a work in progress!). I’m a big animal lover and share my home with my beautiful cat, Maple.
If this sounds like the kind of space you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch, I’d love to speak with you.
